Hello!

I am a mixed media abstract artist painting under the name KTRAPS (Katie Raps), a beloved nickname from childhood. I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband and three boys. Since my earliest memories, I have enjoyed creating - making collages, painting, drawing, building, and bringing ideas to life. 

I am inspired by the relationships of color and texture – how they move and flow together along with the constancy of change and how it alters our perception, emotions and state of being. I’m deeply intrigued by the healing power of art and how the varying interpretations of the viewer work in tandem to bring creative experiences to life on and off the canvas.

KTRAPS Originals embody feelings of connection and hope in a tangible, physical form through color relationships, movement and texture while embracing bold hues.
